The building has belonged to the family since 1897, when Carlo’s great-grandfather, a farmer, built the house with an adjoining cowshed for the livestock. After the First World War the first tourists began to arrive, and he decided to set aside a few rooms to host them.
Over the years tourism became an increasingly important activity in Val di Fassa and in Moena: the farmhouse gradually turned into a proper hotel.

We like to think of Hotel Cavalletto as a landmark in Moena. It was born as one of the first tourist businesses in the area, at the dawn of mountain tourism in the Dolomites. It has grown over the decades and kept pace with the times. We have always responded promptly to new needs and have never been afraid to reinvent ourselves.
Alongside this ability to adapt our idea of hospitality to an ever-changing world, we have always offered a sincere smile, a warm welcome and the wish to let you savour Val di Fassa and its people. With some of you a true friendship has grown and we look forward to seeing you every year; many others have stayed in our hearts after just a few days.

Changes and extensions were made regularly until, at the end of the 1980s, the building was almost completely demolished and rebuilt to the most modern standards of the time. But it was in 2010 that the major extension and modernisation work was carried out, making Hotel Cavalletto one of the most modern and appreciated hotels in the area.
Since then, every year we make improvements to keep up with the times and meet the needs of our guests.
